If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn't need to lug around a camera ~ Lewis Hine

All photos on my blog (except this one, of course!) are taken with this D70 - she's my baby!

Funny comment. Did you read the book?

We have a D70, too, and it still works. I think we bought it about 8-9 years ago. But I use mostly a D300 and Lois Anne has a D40. Also use several point-and-shoots.

Have a great week.

Oh, by the say, I think Lewis Hine is wrong. People tell stories "in words" all the time. And they're good stories.

Photography is merely another way to tell a story. For those with diminished imaginations, it can be a more dramatic way. :-)

:) Perspectives!

Hi Jacob!
Yes I read the book - it's a good one.

Wow, I am sure the D300 is fantastic. My dad has a D100. I also sometimes use a point-and-shoot (a Canon A560)

You are right - photography maybe just another way to tell a story but for people like me - it is the only way. My story cannot be told in words :-)

Very witty!

But if you want to tell a story in pictures, then you need your camera...

I really like this quote. It does a wonderful job of describing my situation. But I guess I'll just continue to lug my camera around.

I guess, what Lewis meaning "I am master with camera than with words" It applies to lot of shutterbugs like you.

Happy Valentines day to you girl. Have great fun.

Looks like a beautiful camera (I can understand the way you feel about it)- and all your pictures are always stunning.;) Even this one - thus may I ask what camera captured this intriguing image?;)
Thank you for your very substantial and kind comment on my yesterdays post, I am glad you could relate to the sentiments expressed within.;)

Jacob - Thank you.

Magiceye - Its all about perspectives, isnt it ?

Amrita - Photo power. I really like that! Thank you.

Ladyfi - Sure do. Thank you!

George - And me. Thank you.

Maddy - Thank you. Happy V Day to you too.

Viola - Thank you. Glad you like it

Zuzana - Lovely to see you, as always. This was taken with a Canon Powershot A560.

London Caller - So happy to present her to the world - she's the star behind all my photos. I havent given her a name - I just call her my baby :-)

Trotter - Yes, they're a bit heavy/big to carry around. Which is why I later bought a point and shoot.

Excellent shot, including the one on the book! A picture could say thousand words are not said just enough! :)

My camera is my notebook. Yes, I carry a notebook with me all the time and often post blog entries from full blown journal writings in those notebooks. But, my camera is my living reminder of where I've been. It's from there that I can write other important stories. Also, when my husband and I travel, he practically as a photographic memory for the details of an event or place we have visited. Me? Not so much. But, I'm the better photographer. We make a very good team when it comes to travel writing. He writes the trip reports; I illustrate them.

A fine quote. I too have opted for smaller and smaller cameras over the years. The point-and-shoot is always in my pocket ready to be used at a moment's notice. The big camera is at home on the shelf!

Ash,
You have some gorgeous photos in your blog. I was eying D70 for quite a while, before settling in for a PENTAX K200D just because it had an In body IS and better build..But D70 is a beauty-I have seen it with one of my friends...!
